Get out of your shell and make a genuine connection with someone fresh (not on social media!). Compliment, inquire about someone's viewpoint, or express a suggestion.

Connect with someone from your history and someone who has known you at various phases of your life. While catching up with them, recall simpler – or more difficult – moments to gain perspective on your day. Make a phone call, send a text message, or write a letter.


5. Make a plan for the future.

Set something in action for the following day. Doing something now to benefit you tomorrow gives you a sense of control over your plans and puts you ahead of the game.

It might be as simple as making a to-do list or as complex as scheduling an appointment.


6. Get a Boost of Endorphins

Love a natural endorphin surge without the use of coffee by moving your body in a way you enjoy every day. Take a run, join a Zumba class, do yoga, or simply dance in your living room.

Music has a beneficial influence on the brain, and hearing music you enjoy has a favorable effect on your mood. Turn up the volume on your favorite song and get ready to rock!


8. Think on the good things that happened yesterday.
